IBT Designers, Architect Earn LEED Accreditation From the U.S. Green Building Council ATLANTA – November 12, 2007 – IBT Enterprises, LLC, a leader in design and construction services for the financial services and specialty retail industries, has reached another milestone in its pursuit of environmentally friendly building practices. Three IBT employees have earned the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Professional Accreditation status. Tom Tedrow, vice president of design and construction services, is now accredited for LEED New Construction and Major Renovations, a rating system that guides and distinguishes the building of commercial and institutional buildings. Kacie Reisman, senior project designer, and Catherine Price, project designer, are accredited for commercial interior projects. “These accreditations make IBT one of the first specializing in design/build for financial services to achieve this standard,” said IBT CEO Mylle Mangum. “IBT is committed to helping our clients build toward a sustainable future. And while it may not be feasible for all projects to achieve LEED certification, LEED accreditation enables us to recommend and encourage the use of environmentally friendly materials and practices as a hallmark of IBT delivery.” The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED Professional Accreditation is given to individuals who demonstrate a thorough understanding of environmentally-sound building and design practices, and are familiar with the requirements for building a LEED-certified building or remodeling a building to LEED specifications. “With green building gaining national attention, our clients are increasingly interested in reducing their environmental impact,” said Tom Tedrow, VP of Design and Construction for IBT. “We are proud to offer the expertise to assist clients in creating facilities that are more efficient, are easier to maintain and will benefit the overall community.” As part of the company’s on-going commitment to encouraging and supporting sustainable build practices, IBT will continue to invest in LEED accreditations for its design and architectural team, as well as membership in the U.S. Green Building Council.
